The event opens with ao. Univ.-Prof. Christian Piska discussing the regulatory reach of the EU’s MiCAR framework and available legal remedies. A series of short keynote presentations will follow, featuring distinguished speakers:

  • Prof. Alfred Taudes (Vienna University of Economics and Business) on private-sector innovation and stablecoins
  • Wolfgang Haunold (Austrian National Bank) on the role of CBDCs as public money in a digital era.
  • Prof. Qiang Qu (Chinese Academy of Sciences) offering an East Asian perspective on stablecoins.
  • Oliver Völkel (CERHA HEMPEL) discussing Europe’s regulatory and strategic response.

After a networking break, the programme concludes with a panel discussion on: “From Dollar Dominance to Euro Ambitions: The Geopolitics of Stablecoins” featuring Prof. Qiang Qu, Wolfgang Haunold, and Herbert Kovar (Deloitte Austria).
